Transpack Ski Bags
When deciding on the best Transpack ski bag for you, please review and check the following features:
Length of Ski Bag
Each Transpack ski bag comes in a different length which is notated in the product’s title. It’s important to select a ski bag that will fit your skis properly. If you are uncertain, you can always select a convertible ski bag that is larger than your skis, as convertible ski bags are adjustable and feature a clasp that allows you to fold over the excess length and snap it into place so your skis don’t slide around in the bag.
Number of Skis
Most soft ski bags will fit either one or two pairs of skis. If you’re looking to carry other items in your ski bag, such as extra poles, jackets and other gear, think about purchasing a ski bag for two skis. The single bag will fit one pair of skis well, but not too much extra gear. Also be aware that some of the extra wide skis with bindings attached might not fit in the single ski bag, so in those cases, you might consider purchasing a double bag for the extra width.
Transporting your Skis
Are you flying with your skis? Then a Transpack soft rolling ski bag might be right for you. It will make carrying your skis through the terminal much easier, but be aware, rolling ski bags are also heavier and while it might be easier to transport in the airport, it might be more difficult to maneuver once you get to the mountain. Another option for ski transportation is the Transpack hard jet case. The hard cases also roll, but also provide for additional durability and storage for wider skis and additional gear. Straps and retainers as well as multiple locking mechanisms are features in the hard case which help secure and protect your prized gear during travel.
Padding or No Padding?
Padding is an important feature to look for in your Transpack ski bag if you are traveling far distances and are looking to protect your precious gear from damage. If your purpose for getting a ski bag is for ease of transportation and stow-ability, then just a nylon ski sleeve is your best bet.
